Job summary

Maintech Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a leading global food manufacturer in the UK. You will improve equipment reliability, support engineering projects and drive operational excellence across a busy site.

You will carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on high-speed production lines, diagnose faults, and lead root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence. A clear path for progression exists into Reliability Engineering and Engineering Leadership.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained engineer with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled maintenance background.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or automated production environments.
• Experience using CMMS systems.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems advantageous.
• Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across high-speed production and packaging machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Lead and support root cause analysis activities to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve plant reliability and performance.
• Complete pre- and post-maintenance inspections to ensure equipment operates to the highest standards.
• Support lubrication programmes and preventative maintenance strategies.
• Coach production teams on autonomous maintenance activities and equipment care.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site's CMMS system.
• Promote high engineering standards, 5S and best practice across the department.
• Work closely with production and operational teams to maximise equipment availability.

• Quarterly performance bonus (£325 – £750)
• OTE exceeding £60,000
