Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Electrician for a Northwest M&E contractor. You’ll work on commercial sites around Blackburn, Preston, Lancaster and Wigan, with overtime opportunities and a strong benefits package.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, routine inspections, EICR testing, Emergency Lighting testing and ensuring safety compliance. Requires JIB Gold card, DBS check, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with Installation or Approved status and JIB Gold card.
• Proven experience in commercial electrical maintenance.
• DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• EICR testing and Emergency Lighting testing.
• DB health checks and compliance with safety regulations.
• Installing, upgrading and maintaining electrical equipment.

Maintenance Electrician

Meridian are working with a well-established M&E contractor in the North-west who predominantly work across areas such as Preston, Lancaster, Blackpool, Wigan, and Blackburn. With a wide variety of work on commercial contracts in the area, there are plenty of additional earning possibilities as well as a strong benefits package. Requirements for this role:

• Qualified Electrician - Installation or Approved Electrician JIB Gold card
• 2391 or equivalent Inspection and Testing qualifications desirable but NOT essential
• Proven experience in commercial electrical maintenance
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, safety standards, and fault-finding
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Good communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• You would need to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
• Full and valid UK Driving Licence
