Job summary

Rock Recruitment is recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician in Sheffield on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a range of sites to keep client facilities safe and compliant.

You will perform PPM, fault finding, testing and installation works, and participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota. Travel to client sites and CAFM-based record-keeping are required.

Qualifications

• Proven electrical maintenance experience.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing Facilities Management provider, for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join their team in Sheffield.

Our client delivers Mechanical & Electrical, Facilities Management, Cleaning & Hygiene, and Security services across the UK, with over 100 years' heritage in the industry. They support clients across healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, and public sectors, operating from hubs in Sheffield, Doncaster, Leeds, and the Northwest.

The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you'll deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a diverse range of commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, education, and public sector sites. You'll carry out PPM, reactive repairs, fault finding, electrical testing, and installation works — helping keep our client's customer sites safe, compliant, and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing lighting systems, distribution boards, fire and intruder alarms, pumps, motors, BMS, HVAC, EV charging, and more
• Fault finding, testing, and inspecting electrical systems in line with current regulations
• Responding promptly to reactive maintenance requests from the Helpdesk Team
• Taking part in an out-of-hours call-out rota
• Compiling quotations for repair and installation works
• Flagging non-repairable issues with recommendations to the Contracts Manager
• Travelling to client sites as required
• Keeping accurate records via the CAFM system and meeting SLAs
• Representing the business professionally with clients, contractors, and colleagues

What Our Client Is Looking For

Essential:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
• AM2 Qualification
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance and installation
• Strong fault-finding, repair, testing, and maintenance skills across a range of electrical systems
• Solid knowledge of current electrical regulations and compliance
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload
• IT literate, comfortable using CAFM or similar systems
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Experience in commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or retail settings
• Experience with HVAC, BMS controls, fire alarms, or EV charging infrastructure
• A flexible, self-motivated approach with strong customer focus
