Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to support a portfolio of commercial sites around Guildford and surrounding areas. The role offers a £43,000 base, standby, overtime, and a company vehicle, with opportunities for progression and ongoing training.

You will handle PPM and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and maintenance of electrical/building services across power, emergency lighting, fire alarms, and BMS.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Electrical Installation or Maintenance qualification.
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• Experience in commercial or facilities maintenance.
• Good knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Electrical fault finding, repairs and remedial works.
• Maintaining electrical and mechanical building services.
• Working on power, emergency lighting, fire alarms, BMS and related building services.
• Responding to breakdowns and engineering emergencies.
• Completing minor installation and maintenance works.
• Supporting larger maintenance and project works where required.
• Identifying defects and ensuring remedial actions are progressed.
• Collaborating with specialist subcontractors when necessary.
• Maintaining accurate records and updating job information.

What will you be doing?

You’ll play a key role in keeping a range of commercial buildings safe, compliant and operating at their best. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Electrical fault finding, repairs and remedial works.
• Maintaining electrical and mechanical building services.
• Working on systems including power, emergency lighting, fire alarms, BMS and associated building services.
• Responding to breakdowns and engineering emergencies.
• Completing minor installation and maintenance works.
• Supporting larger maintenance and project works where required.
• Identifying defects and ensuring remedial actions are progressed.
• Working alongside specialist subcontractors when necessary.
• Maintaining accurate records and updating job information.
• Building strong working relationships with clients and site teams.
• Ensuring all works are completed safely, professionally and within agreed SLAs/KPIs.

No two days are necessarily the same. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of commercial environments, tackle different technical challenges and continue developing your skills.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and has a strong electrical maintenance background. Ideally, you’ll have:

• Level 3 Electrical Installation or Maintenance qualification, or a recognised equivalent apprenticeship.
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• Previous experience in commercial or facilities maintenance.
• Good knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance.
• A solid understanding of electrical building services and relevant British Standards.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
• A reliable, professional and proactive approach.
