Job summary

Oakley Recruitment Limited, working with a Birmingham-based construction client, is seeking a Maintenance Business Development Manager on a full-time permanent basis. The role focuses on growing the maintenance division, securing SME contracts, and building client relationships.

You will lead strategies, prepare quotations, attend site visits, and work with operations to ensure commercial viability, with autonomy to drive revenue growth and lasting impact.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction or facilities maintenance.
• Strong business development and contract securing skills.
• Experience in estimating and preparing quotations.
• Excellent commercial awareness and SME market understanding.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to identify opportunities and convert leads into revenue.
• Established industry contacts advantageous.
• Proactive, independent work style.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing strategies to grow the maintenance division.
• Identifying and securing new maintenance contracts, particularly within the SME market.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients.
• Generating new business through networking, referrals and direct approaches.
• Attending client meetings and site visits to assess requirements.
• Preparing accurate quotations, estimates and competitive tenders.
• Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to negotiation and contract award.
• Working closely with operational teams to ensure contracts are commercially viable.
• Driving revenue growth and identifying opportunities for repeat business.
