Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a part-time Maintenance Operative to provide general maintenance services at our Wantage manufacturing site. The role focuses on handling, collecting, and disposing of waste materials around the site, along with performing basic maintenance tasks as required.

This position is part-time - 2 or 3 days per week, working from 8 am to 4 pm, with a pattern of Wednesday to Friday.

What will you be doing?

• Completing delegated and reactive work assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor to maintain the Wantage site to a high standard.
• Collecting, transporting, and processing waste materials across the site in accordance with Health and Safety best practices.
• Emptying specified external litter and recycling bins daily and maintaining designated areas as needed.
• Inspecting and maintaining specified equipment daily, taking remedial action as necessary.
• Assisting with grounds maintenance, including litter picking and rubbish removal around the site.
• Reporting safety concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor for prompt action in line with site safety procedures.
• Gaining a thorough knowledge of the Wantage site.
• Applying training and instructions to carry out maintenance, waste, and recycling tasks efficiently.
• Promoting and prioritizing Health and Safety within the maintenance team, completing all training modules promptly.
• Supporting responses to severe weather conditions, such as snow clearance or gritting, as directed by the supervisor.

Who are you?

A forklift truck license is advantageous but full training will be provided.

Previous experience in a similar role or within a trade is desirable.
