Maintenance Assistant (Accommodation Maintenance)

Department: Campus Infrastructure

Salary: Starting from £25,100, rising to £25,733. The quoted salary includes a market supplement to align with our commitment as a voluntary living wage employer.

Contract Type: Full-Time, Open Ended

The Department of Campus Infrastructure is responsible for maintaining and developing the University's buildings. We are seeking Maintenance Assistants to support the team by undertaking planned and unplanned maintenance tasks, such as general repairs, minor plumbing, and safety testing in accommodation buildings.

The University values a fantastic student experience, and the professionalism of our maintenance staff contributes significantly to that success. We welcome applications from candidates who:

  • Have experience in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, or painting (qualifications are not essential).
  • Are familiar with and comfortable working in built environments, capable of identifying and resolving various maintenance issues, and keeping relevant parties informed.
  • Have a flexible approach and are willing to undertake training to enhance their skills.
  • Are committed, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess good problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills.

Further information: These roles are offered on a full-time (36.5 hours per week), permanent basis, Monday to Friday, with teams based either on-campus or in the City.
