Job summary

Severn Trent is hiring a Network Construction Operative to support mains renewal projects across the Midlands. You will work in a team, perform excavation, installation, testing and commissioning of new mains, and ensure minimal disruption to customers while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires a 42-hour week, starting early with Friday finish. Candidates with a full driving license and water industry qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Full driving license is required.
• National Water Hygiene and NRSWA preferred.
• Experience in utility/construction environments is beneficial.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate hazards with daily risk assessments.
• Safe locating and avoidance of underground utilities.
• Liaise with customers and provide updates during DMA renewal projects.
• Implement trenchless solutions where possible to reduce disruption.
• Standby duties as required.
