Job summary

Severn Trent Water is seeking a Network Construction Engineer (Technician) to support on-site mains renewal work as part of a wider construction team across UK regions.

You will be involved in pre-site checks, liaison with Network Control, valve operations, and on-site construction activities such as piping, chlorination, and pressure valve installations, while managing risks and budgets. The role requires a 42-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a 4:00 PM finish on Fridays.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and ability to build successful working relationships within a team.
• Full driving licence and ideally National Water Hygiene and NRSWA qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for undertaking pre-site checks with the Network Construction Manager and for risk & contingency documentation preparation.
• Liaise with Network Control at critical stages of each scheme and support on-site activities with the Lead Operative.
• Carry out valving due diligence for critical scheme stages, chlorination and sampling of mains and services as per SOPs and SSOW.
• Perform on-site operational activities including flushing, cleansing of water mains and hydrants, and installation of pressure control valves.
