Job summary

The Independent Recruiter Hub is seeking an experienced Machinist for our Chesterfield workshop in the S43 area. You will operate and set machinery, read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances to produce high-quality components.

The ideal candidate holds a valid FLT licence, has manufacturing experience, and can work both independently and as part of a team in a busy environment with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

We are currently looking for an experienced and reliable Machinist to join our team based in the S43 area of Chesterfield.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong engineering/manufacturing background who takes pride in producing high-quality work and is confident working in a busy workshop environment.

The Role

• Operating and setting machinery safely and efficiently
• Machining components to required specifications and tolerances
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Carrying out quality checks on finished components
• Using workshop tools and measuring equipment
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Working as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines
• Following all company health & safety procedures

About You

• Has previous experience working as a Machinist within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Can read and understand engineering drawings
• Has good attention to detail and takes pride in their work
• Is reliable, hardworking and able to work independently
• Has a good understanding of workshop health & safety
• Must hold a valid FLT (Forklift Truck) licence
• Previous experience with relevant machinery would be advantageous
