Job summary

The Best Connection are recruiting a Machine Operator to join their Stockport production team. This hands-on role involves operating production machinery, ensuring parts meet specifications and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.

You will monitor processes, perform basic machine checks, load materials, and assist with stock movement using FLT when required. A prior machine operating or manufacturing background and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience.
• Strong awareness and understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Some FLT experience and confidence operating FLT equipment.
• Good attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Monitor production processes and product quality.
• Load materials and components into machines.
• Carry out basic machine checks and report faults.
• Follow work instructions and production schedules.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the production area.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures.
• Assist with stock movement and material handling using FLT equipment when required.

The Role

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating production machinery, ensuring products are manufactured to specification, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating manufacturing machinery safely and efficiently
• Monitoring production processes and product quality
• Loading materials and components into machines
• Carrying out basic machine checks and reporting faults
• Following work instructions and production schedules
• Maintaining high housekeeping standards throughout the production area
• Adhering to all company Health & Safety procedures
• Assisting with stock movement and material handling using FLT equipment when required

What We're Looking For

• Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience
• Strong awareness and understanding of Health & Safety procedures
• Some FLT (Fork Lift Truck) experience and confidence operating FLT equipment
• Good attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude
