Job summary

Frontline Recruitment Group is seeking 3 experienced Manual Machinists for a long-established client near Derby City Centre. The role covers rotating two-week shifts: days (06:00–14:30) and afternoons (14:00–22:30), with a 40-hour week and overtime available.

You will operate manual and CNC machines to produce transport industry parts, with full training provided for additional skills. The ideal candidate has 1+ year on manual or CNC equipment, good health and safety awareness, and a positive

Job description

Our long established client is seeking 3 x experienced Manual Machinists to join their long established business, located just 15 minutes from Derby City Centre.

As an experienced manual machinist you will still benefit from ongoing training, however, you will have previous experience within manual machines and CNC machines and available to work a 2 weekly shift pattern mornings Monday to Friday, afternoons Monday to Thursday = 40 hour week (see below).

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience operating manual and cnc machines to produce parts for the transport industry.
• Previous experience using a lathe or grinder is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
• The ability to lift reasonable weights of material throughout the shift.
• A strong attention to detail.
• Good health & safety awareness.
• A positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work both day and afternoon shifts on a rotating basis.

Shift Pattern

This is a 2-week rotating shift pattern, alternating between early and afternoon shifts:

• Week 1 - Days
  • Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 14:30
  • Friday: 06:00 - 13:30 (early finish)
• Week 2 - Afternoons
  • Monday to Thursday: 14:00 - 22:30
  • Friday: OFF

40 hours per week (overtime structure thereafter)

The successful candidate will then continue to rotate between the day shift and afternoon shift.

Pay

• Negotiable at interview depending on previous experience.
• Overtime paid at T1/2 for hours worked over 40 hours.
• Saturday overtime available at T1/2.

Experience
