Job summary

Alexander Steele are supporting a global manufacturing business to recruit a Machine Operator who will operate and monitor production machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality standards while achieving production, efficiency, and waste targets.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery in manufacturing or production.
• Solid understanding of health, safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Basic IT and record-keeping skills.
• Food manufacturing experience and basic food hygiene knowledge are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machinery in line with production plans and specifications.
• Carry out pre-start checks, line set-up, and routine cleaning activities.
• Prepare and replenish raw materials, packaging, and consumables as required.
• Monitor machine performance and resolve minor stoppages to minimise downtime.
• Perform quality checks and ensure products meet required standards.
• Complete production records and documentation accurately.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and health & safety.
• Support the achievement of production, OEE, and waste reduction targets.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient production operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support training activities where required.

Shift Pattern: 4 on , 4 off (6am - 6pm)
