Gherson Solicitors LLP in London seeks an entry-level IT support assistant to join a small team, providing hands-on support for around 150 Macs and a Microsoft Azure environment. You will learn on the job with mentoring from the Head of IT and gain experience across service desk, device management, and joiner/leaver processes.

Start by supporting the service desk, Mac fleet, and processes, with opportunities to broaden duties as you learn.

Formación

• No prior IT job is required; relevant study or volunteering is welcome.
• GCSE Maths and English Level 2 or willingness to complete Functional Skills.
• Genuine interest in technology and appetite to learn macOS, M365, Azure, Mimecast and Sophos Central.
• Able to give an example of something technical you taught yourself.

Responsabilidades

• Support queue: acknowledge requests and own them to closure within SLAs.
• Mac fleet: build, enrol and update Macs using Jamf Pro.
• Joiners/leavers: set up equipment and update accounts under supervision.
• Fault finding: gather facts and fix issues across devices and software.
• Microsoft 365: day-to-day tasks, Entra ID, permissions as signed off.
• Security tools: monitor Mimecast and Sophos Central alerts with a colleague.
• Networking: diagnose DNS/DHCP/VPN/Wi‑Fi with support, not random restarts.
• Documentation/stock: maintain ticket notes, knowledge base, asset register.
• Changes: test and approve changes; participate in out-of-hours work with supervision.
• Escalation: involve the Head of IT for privileged/irreversible actions.
