Job summary

Facilitate Search Ltd. is recruiting an experienced M&E Supervisor for two Barking sites, splitting time between hands-on maintenance and supervisory duties. You will lead five operatives and oversee electrical maintenance, compliance, and documentation whilst liaising with the client to sustain strong relationships.

The role includes an on-call rota with a £100 standby payment, plus overtime opportunities, and a clear path to LV Authorised Person through funded training.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician with proven experience in commercial maintenance and facilities management.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification is essential.
• Gold Card is desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience supervising/leading a maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of electrical PPM and compliance requirements.
• Willingness to support mechanical and fabric maintenance as needed.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for an experienced M&E Supervisor to join a leading Facilities Management provider, working across two sites in Barking.

This is a working supervisor position, split approximately 50/50 between hands-on maintenance and supervisory/office responsibilities. You will lead a team of five operatives while taking responsibility for the electrical maintenance and compliance across both sites.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Supervising a team of five maintenance operatives across two nearby schools
• Managing and completing Electrical PPM and reactive maintenance
• Supporting with general mechanical and fabric maintenance when required
• Ensuring statutory compliance and maintenance documentation is completed correctly
• Coordinating workloads and supporting the wider engineering team
• Liaising directly with the client and maintaining a strong working relationship
• Providing both hands-on technical support and day-to-day supervision

The position includes an on-call rota of approximately 1 in 3, with a £100 standby payment, plus some additional overtime opportunities.

What We're Looking For

You must be a fully qualified electrician, ideally with:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification
• Gold Card - desirable
• Previous commercial maintenance / Facilities Management experience
• Supervisory, Team Leader, Lead Engineer or Senior Engineer experience
• Good knowledge of electrical PPM and compliance
• Willingness to support mechanical and fabric maintenance where required
• Strong communication and client-facing skills

The role would suit either an existing Electrical Supervisor or a strong Lead/Senior Engineer looking to take their first step into a supervisory position.

Training & Progression

There is an opportunity to become an LV Authorised Person, with the training fully funded by the employer.

Additional qualifications can also attract a £500 incentive, making this a good opportunity for someone looking to continue developing technically while building their supervisory experience.

Salary: £53,400 + £100 On-Call Standby + Overtime + Package
