Job summary

Gieves & Hawkes in York is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily store operations and drive the growth of ready-to-wear and made-to-measure. You will manage a high-performing team, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and ensure brand standards are maintained.

The role requires 3–5 years in luxury retail, fluent English, strong people skills, and a passion for tailoring. You will work with the regional team to meet financial targets and promote the brand in local and regional markets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in luxury retail, ideally menswear, at an Assistant Manager or Store Manager level
• Passion for driving new business & networking with business/individuals
• Clear, concise, polite communication essential
• Expert in people management & improving team performance
• Passionate about tailoring, with a desire to increase this knowledge
• Proficient in English, both verbal and written
• Able to work under pressure, managing multiple scenarios
• Immaculately presented
• Punctual, flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of the business at short notice

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations.
• Develop and grow the ready-to-wear & made-to-measure areas of the business.
• Market & network locally & regionally.
• Lead, develop and manage an outstanding team delivering exceptional customer experience.
• Achieve and exceed set financial targets and KPI's.
• Always be an ambassador of the brand and corporate values.
• Deliver an outstanding customer experience in-store.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and visual merchandising.
• Coordinate with HR on recruitment, induction, training, and payroll.
• Ensure stock levels, replenishment, and security procedures are followed and stock discrepancies are addressed.
