Job summary

Hand Picked Hotels in Maidstone, Kent, seeks a passionate Sous Chef for Chilston Park Hotel to join a celebrated country house team. You will support a culinary operation that blends heritage with contemporary flair, delivering memorable dining experiences across weddings, events and hotel service.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will mentor staff, maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, and contribute to menu delivery while upholding the hotel’s reputation for luxury

Qualifications

• Strong Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef experience in a multi-outlet rosette/Michelin hotel environment.
• Exposure to weddings, bespoke events and private dining with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of an exceptional culinary experience reflected in creativity, quality and seasonal variety.
• Assist Head Chef in overseeing food preparation, presentation and service.
• Guide and train the culinary team, lead by example during service.
• Assist with kitchen operations, stock monitoring and cost control, and supplier relations.
