Job summary

The Dorchester is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard guests, staff, and property in a luxury setting. You will manage CCTV and access control, conduct risk assessments, and uphold high standards of safety and service.

Essential experience includes 3+ years in hotel security, SIA Level 2, and First Aid, with strong communication skills. The role involves shift work, on-site duties, and comprehensive training through our academy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a security function role in luxury environments.
• Minimum 3 years in hotel, corporate or luxury retail security.
• SIA Level 2 Door Supervisor qualification.
• Level 3 First Aid at Work (RQF).
• Fire Marshal course.
• Excellent written and spoken communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Protect the Company’s property and provide a safe environment for guests and colleagues.
• Oversee FLHSS (Fire, Life, Safety, and Security) per company rules and risk assessment standards.
• Record incidents in the Occurrence Book and conduct regular patrols; report hazards for action.
• Operate CCTV and access control systems; relay information to stakeholders or Area Director of Security.
• Follow Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the H&S Manual; ensure safe working practices.
• Conduct regular H&S and Fire Safety audits across the property and communicate findings.
