Job summary

The Marylebone, part of The Doyle Collection, seeks an experienced Shift Engineer to join its Engineering team in London. You will be proactive, working beside guests, management, contractors, and suppliers, troubleshooting, performing minor repairs, and ordering replacements with a strong focus on health and safety.

Key duties include painting and decorating, planned maintenance, and responding to maintenance requests across guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas.

Responsibilities

• Carry out painting and decorating work throughout the hotel, ensuring a high standard of finish.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and routine repairs in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Undertake minor repairs to hotel fixtures, fittings, equipment, and appliances.
• Safely handle, use, and store tools, chemicals, and materials per procedures.
• Ensure safety signage and PPE are used at all times.
• Conduct regular stock checks and maintain supplies.
• Keep workshops, storage areas, and workspaces clean and safe.
• Identify and report maintenance issues to management.
• Follow health, safety, security, and operational policies.
• Deliver excellent guest service and respond to requests professionally.
• Support the wider maintenance team and provide cover when needed.
• Maintain a flexible approach to working hours.
