Job summary

Montcalm Collection in London is seeking a Shift Engineer to join the Maintenance team, delivering prompt engineering support to uphold luxury standards across the property. You will manage planned and reactive tasks, support energy efficiency initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements to deliver an exceptional guest and colleague experience.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will lead a small maintenance team and contractors, oversee day-to-day operations

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in luxury hospitality.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with PMS systems (Opera or similar) and ability to multitask.
• Attention to detail and passion for guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building upkeep.
• Resolve guest and staff maintenance requests promptly.
• Coordinate with Front Office and Housekeeping to resolve issues with minimal disruption.
• Uphold Montcalm’s luxury brand standards in maintenance activities.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate the maintenance team and external contractors.
• Monitor and control departmental expenses, labour, and contracted services.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts.
• Conduct performance reviews and foster a positive team culture.
• Ensure adherence to hotel policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
