Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is recruiting a Patient Contact Assessor (PCA) for the Lung Cancer Screening programme. The role involves telephone risk assessments, scheduling scans at mobile clinics, and supporting patients with referrals, while promoting lung health and providing Very Brief Advice to smokers.

You will work as part of a team under the Performance and Pathway Manager and Team Leader, with shifts across six days a week.

Qualifications

• GCSE English Language and Mathematics (Grades A-C).
• NVQ3 in Administration or Customer Service or equivalent or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive telephone screening to assess lung cancer risk, following national protocols.
• Book and coordinate appointments for eligible patients at local mobile scanning clinics.
• Provide compassionate, professional communication and support to patients.
• Assist patients with booking Low Dose CT scans and manage appointments with attention to detail.
• Monitor Did Not Attend (DNA) outcomes and follow up rebooking to improve attendance.
• Collaborate with Lung Cancer Screening Specialist Nurses to escalate high-risk cases.
