Job summary

Old Moat in Manchester is seeking a Lunchtime Organiser to support pupils and staff during the lunch period. This part-time role involves supervising pupils in the dining hall and play areas, promoting good manners and inclusive play, and helping to maintain a safe, orderly dining environment.

You will work term-time hours (12:00–13:30, Monday to Friday) with a focus on calm management of minor incidents and effective communication with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience or ability to supervise pupils and manage behaviour.
  • Demonstrates kindness, patience and responsibility.

Salary: Grade 1 NJC £4,600.49

  • Supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground and other areas during the lunch period.

  • Support children to develop friendships, cooperation and inclusion through play.
  • Manage minor incidents calmly and report any concerns to senior staff.
  • Help ensure the dining environment is clean, safe and well organised.

The candidate should have:

  • A kind, patient and responsible attitude towards children.
  • A team player who can communicate well with adults and children
  • Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to supporting the school community.
  • Experience of working with children (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs in a mainstream or specialist setting (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working with children with English as an Additional Language (desirable but not essential).
