Job summary

Edmund de Moundeford VC Primary School, Feltwell, invites applications for a energetic Lunchtime Supervisor. The role focuses on caring for children and creating a happy, constructive break through supervision, with duties across eating, play, and welfare.

Working 5.41 hours per week during term time, at scale A3 (£13.28/hour), this permanent part-time post requires patience, good communication, and the ability to engage large groups of children while upholding safeguarding standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist children with eating and promote healthy eating habits.
• Ensure dining area is clean, ready for service, and tables are wiped down.
• Supervise the playground, promote safe and inclusive games, and support organised play.
• Resolve minor conflicts with patience and fairness; report serious incidents.
• Monitor children with specific dietary needs to ensure safety.
• Act as first point of contact for minor injuries and refer to a first aider if needed.

We are looking for an energetic Lunchtime Supervisor.

This role is about much more than just supervising—it's about ensuring the child feels cared for and has a happy, constructive break.

Eating Champion

Create a positive atmosphere by assisting the child with food (opening packets, cutting items) and

encouraging good table manners and healthy eating.

Ensure the dining area is ready for service and safely maintained (setting up, clearing spills, wiping down tables).

Playground & Safety Leader

Actively supervise the pupil in the playground, promoting safe and inclusive games and supporting organised

play activities.

Resolve minor conflicts with patience and fairness, reporting serious incidents promptly.

Manage indoor' wet play activities when weather requires it.

Welfare & Care

Act as the first point of contact for minor injuries, referring to a first aider if needed.

Actively monitor the child with specific dietary needs to ensure their safety.

Maintain continuous vigilance to ensure all the child remains safe within the school's designated premises.
