Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an LSA SEN Teaching Assistant in North Essex. The role is permanent and full-time, 37.5 hours per week during term time plus an additional week. You will support pupils with SEN in classroom, 1:1 and small-group settings and may administer medication following training.

Successful candidates will have GCSEs in English and Maths and a proactive, flexible approach. The school emphasises teamwork, development, and student wellbeing in a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting students with SEN/ disabilities is desirable.
  • Willingness to undertake training to administer medication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom, 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs.
  • Administer individual students' medication following training.
  • Support students with SEN in line with school policies and safeguarding procedures.

The school is looking to appoint an LSA SEN Teaching Assistant on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week during term time plus one additional week.

The successful LSA SEN Teaching Assistant will provide classroom, 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs, disabilities or specific medical needs, including administering individual students' medication following appropriate training.

The successful LSA SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent
  • Experience supporting students with special educational needs or disabilities is desirable
  • The willingness to undertake appropriate training to administer medication
  • Strong communication skills when working with students, parents, staff and other professionals
  • A flexible, reliable and enthusiastic approach
  • A positive and professional attitude
