Job summary

Academics is actively recruiting a School Caretaker in Sheffield for a long-term, temporary role starting ASAP. The successful candidate will join a friendly school site team, maintaining a safe, clean and presentable environment for pupils and staff.

Responsibilities include minor repairs, basic plumbing and carpentry, painting, fire-safety duties, site checks and security tasks. GCSEs in Maths/English and DBS compliance are required, with a proactive, reliable approach to daily duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in school caretaking or facilities maintenance.
• Practical skills in minor repairs and general maintenance.
• An Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance.
• Assist with plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating.
• Support with fire safety duties and site checks.
• Maintain outdoor areas and ensure the school premises are safe and welcoming.
