Job summary

Academics is hiring a School Caretaker in Worksop on a temporary basis. You will help keep school premises safe, clean, secure and well-maintained, with hours around 6.30am–10am and 2.30pm–6pm. The role offers PAYE pay, ongoing support from a local consultant and safeguarding training.

Experience in caretaking or facilities management and an Enhanced DBS are required or supported. GCSEs in Maths and English are preferred, with a focus on reliability and proactive work ethic.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking, maintenance or site management experience.
• Ability to carry out basic repairs, maintenance and security tasks.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Reliability and a proactive attitude.
• Commitment to safeguarding and school safety.
• An Enhanced DBS Certificate (we can support you in obtaining this).
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and codes of practice in facilities management.
• GCSEs in Maths and English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure school premises are safe, clean, secure and well-maintained.
• Carry out basic repairs, maintenance and security tasks as required.
• Support across Worksop schools with flexible hourly assignments.
• Collaborate with school staff to safeguard pupils and staff.
