Job summary

Academics in West Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Primary School Caretaker to support a Primary School, with potential mobility across the Trust's sites. You will work hands-on to keep premises safe, clean and well maintained.

The role suits someone practical and reliable with strong DIY skills, able to carry out basic repairs and report issues promptly, while liaising with school staff. DBS check is preferred and the successful candidate will be proactive in maintaining high standards.

Primary School Caretaker

I'm currently looking for an experienced Caretaker to support a Primary School, with the potential to work across a number of schools within the same Trust.

We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable and hands-on, with a good range of general maintenance skills.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Premises Assistant or similar
• Good general maintenance and DIY skills
• Ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance
• Good understanding of health & safety
• Ability to identify and report maintenance issues
• Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with school staff
• Enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one)

The role would suit someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming school environment and is comfortable working independently.
