Are you an experienced School Caretaker looking for a long-term opportunity in Sheffield?

Academics, an established education agency, are actively recruiting for a School Caretaker to join a welcoming primary school in Sheffield on a temporary, long-term basis, starting ASAP.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced School Caretaker in Sheffield to become an important part of a school site team, helping to maintain a safe, secure, clean and well-presented environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

About the Role

Working as a School Caretaker in Sheffield, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance, security and general upkeep of the school premises.

The successful School Caretaker will work closely with the school team and carry out a range of practical duties to ensure the site remains safe, functional and welcoming.

Your duties may include:

• Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance
• Completing basic plumbing and carpentry tasks
• Painting and decorating when required
• Supporting with fire safety duties and routine site checks
• Maintaining outdoor areas and carrying out litter picking
• Assisting with the general security and upkeep of the school premises
• Identifying and reporting any maintenance or site issues
• Working collaboratively with school staff and other members of the site team

School Caretaker Requirements

To be considered for this School Caretaker role in Sheffield, you should have:

• Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities or site management experience
• Practical experience carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance
• Knowledge or experience of plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating
• An understanding of fire safety procedures
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and facilities management practices
• GCSEs in Maths and English
• The ability to work effectively as part of a school team
• Good communication and organisational skills
• A reliable, proactive and practical approach
• An Enhanced DBS Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
