Job summary

Marchant Recruitment invites applications for a confident graduate or experienced Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in West London. The role offers a stable, long-term position and a clear pathway toward PGCE or Teacher Training, ideal for developing classroom leadership experience.

The successful candidate will support KS3–KS4 with pre-set work, maintain orderly classrooms, and assist with admin duties and small-group support as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree educated preferred (or HLTA qualification).
• Experience working with 11–16 year olds in a secondary school, youth work, tutoring, or similar setting.
• Excellent communication, resilience, and strong classroom presence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee classes across Key Stage 3 and 4 during short-term absence of teaching staff.
• Deliver pre-set work and guide pupils through tasks.
• Maintain a positive, orderly classroom environment following school policies.
• Assist pupils with understanding instructions and their independent study time.
• Collect completed work and provide feedback to regular class teachers.
• Support departments with admin duties, exam invigilation, or small-group support when not covering.
