Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced Cover Supervisor to join a mainstream secondary school in London, providing classroom cover across KS3 and KS4. This is a long-term position (term-time only) with immediate start and a daily rate up to £145.

You will supervise pre-planned lessons, maintain high standards of behaviour, support students’ learning, and work with staff to ensure smooth operation of lessons.

Qualifications

• Ability to keep students engaged and on task.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 with pre-planned lessons.

Cover Supervisor - Secondary School

Full Time | Term Time Only | Immediate Start

Up to £145 per day | Long-Term Role

Long Term Futures are recruiting an experienced and confident Cover Supervisor to join a mainstream secondary school, providing classroom cover across KS3 and KS4.

This is a long-term Cover Supervisor position, rather than day-to-day supply. You will supervise pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects, ensuring students remain focused, complete the work set and maintain high standards of behaviour.

Excellent behaviour management is essential. The role would be particularly well suited to a qualified teacher looking for a non-planning role, an experienced HLTA ready to step up, or an established Cover Supervisor looking for greater stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4


• Provide cover across a range of secondary subjects


• Deliver work that has been prepared by the class teacher


• Maintain excellent classroom behaviour and clear expectations


• Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set


• Manage challenging behaviour confidently and consistently


• Follow the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies


• Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons


• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff across the school

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills - essential


• Previous experience working with secondary aged students


• Confidence leading a full classroom independently


• Experience across KS3 and KS4


• Ability to quickly establish boundaries and expectations


• Strong communication and organisational skills


• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA or Teacher would be highly advantageous
