Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced and confident Cover Supervisor to join a mainstream secondary school, providing classroom cover across KS3 and KS4. This long-term role requires supervising pre-planned lessons and maintaining high standards of behaviour.

Excellent behaviour management is essential, and the position suits a qualified teacher seeking a non-planning role, an experienced HLTA ready to step up, or an established Cover Supervisor seeking stability.

Qualifications

• Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills - essential.
• Previous experience working with secondary aged students.
• Confidence leading a full classroom independently.
• Experience across KS3 and KS4.
• Ability to quickly establish boundaries and expectations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA or Teacher would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4
• Provide cover across a range of secondary subjects
• Deliver work that has been prepared by the class teacher
• Maintain excellent classroom behaviour and clear expectations
• Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set
• Manage challenging behaviour confidently and consistently
• Follow the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies
• Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff across the school
