Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Cover Supervisor for a secondary school in Cannock. The role is long‑term with a view to permanency for the right candidate.

You will supervise classes during teacher absence, deliver pre-set work, and support pupils' learning within a welcoming school community. The successful candidate will have experience with children, GCSE Maths/English, and an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant or willingness to work towards.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in educational or similar settings.
• GCSE Maths and English with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
• Proactive, flexible and team‑oriented with safeguarding awareness.
