Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking Cover Supervisors to join our client schools in Stoke-on-Trent. You will supervise classes during teacher absences, deliver pre-set work, and maintain a positive, productive learning environment on a long-term basis with potential for permanent roles.

The role requires experience with children, GCSE Maths/English, and an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards. Strong communication and safeguarding commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in an educational or similar setting.
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
• A proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach with a commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-set work and maintain a focused learning environment.
• Manage behaviour effectively to support pupils' learning.
• Support pupils' development and contribute to the wider life of the school.
