Job summary

TeacherActive is working with welcoming secondary schools across Stoke to appoint Cover Supervisors. The role involves supervising classes in the absence of teachers, delivering pre-set work and supporting pupils' learning.

This is a long-term Cover Supervisor position with potential to secure a permanent role for the right candidate. You will need GCSEs and an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent, plus strong communication and behaviour management skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in an educational or similar setting.
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) with strong numeracy and literacy.
• NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-set work to pupils.
• Manage behaviour positively and effectively.
• Support pupils' learning and development.
