Job summary

Arup is offering a six-week Summer Internship for a Structural and Mechanical Engineer within its Specialist Technology, Analytics and Research (STAR) team. The role involves real-life projects across buildings, infrastructure, offshore renewables, and EVs, with mentoring from senior engineers.

Candidates should be pursuing a master’s degree in engineering with a 2:1/60% or higher and have modules in structural analysis and FEM.

Qualifications

• Must be studying towards a master’s degree in engineering with 2:1/60% or higher.
• Interest in numerical analysis, simulation and digital technologies like scripting.
• Modules in structural analysis, FEM, dynamics or earthquake engineering are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducting finite element analysis on projects
• Preparing structural calculations and designs
• Completing research for assignment work
• Visiting site for inspections, surveys and monitoring
• Developing digital tools and scripts to support tasks
• Writing reports and preparing client presentations
• Attending meetings and liaising with clients
• Supporting senior team members on real-life projects
