Job summary

Arup in London invites a Summer Intern to join the Specialist Technology, Analytics and Research (STAR) team as a Structural and Mechanical Engineer for a six-week placement. You’ll gain hands-on experience on real projects, including finite element analysis, structural calculations, and site visits, while learning from engineering experts.

We value curious, self-starting candidates who are keen to develop digital skills, scripting, and practical problem solving in a consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a master’s level engineering degree with strong academic performance.
• Interest in numerical analysis, simulation and digital technologies.
• Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and learning in a consultancy setting.

Responsibilities

• Conducting finite element analysis
• Preparing structural calculations and structural design
• Completing research
• Visiting site and completing inspections, surveys and monitoring
• Developing digital tools
• Writing reports and preparing presentations
• Attending meetings and liaising with clients
• Supporting senior members of the team
