Job summary

Benugo is seeking an experienced Café Manager to lead the London location, overseeing daily operations, staff supervision, and financial performance while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere with high-quality beverages and food.

You will manage inventory, health and safety, cash handling, and scheduling, driving sales growth and guest satisfaction through staff training, promotions, and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven cafe/coffee shop management experience.
• Leadership experience with supervising and developing staff.
• Strong focus on guest experience and service quality.
• Proficient with POS systems and cafe management software.
• Solid inventory management, stock control and ordering.
• Knowledge of health and safety and food hygiene best practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong numerical and financial management abilities including cash handling and budgeting.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: Experience with Benugo or branded cafe chains.
• Preferred: Food hygiene certification or equivalent.
• Preferred: Experience training cafe staff.
• Preferred: Multi-site or multi-unit management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of café staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
• Manage inventory, stock levels, and ordering of beverages, food items, and supplies while minimizing waste
• Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and food hygiene standards and regulations
• Handle cash management, process transactions, and reconcile daily financial records using POS systems
• Create and manage staff schedules to optimize coverage and meet customer demand
• Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and improve profitability
• Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and gathering feedback
• Maintain café cleanliness, equipment functionality, and aesthetic appeal to brand standards
• Implement promotional activities and seasonal offerings to drive customer engagement and sales
• Conduct regular staff training on product knowledge, customer service, and operational procedures
