Job summary

DMG Media is seeking an experienced Data Architect to define and govern the data architecture across its hybrid estate, spanning AWS, GCP, hosted data centres, and on‑premises systems. You will set standards, map data flows, and ensure architectures are documented and auditable.

In this role you will shape scalable lakehouse patterns and real-time/batch pipelines for AI/ML, collaborating with engineering, product, and editorial teams to deliver practical, compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and governing data architectures across cloud, hosted data centres, and on‑premises.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP data services (Redshift, Glue, S3, BigQuery, Dataflow).
• Ability to map current-state data flows and define optimized target-state designs.
• Experience with architecture governance forums (TDA/ARB) and producing governance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Map and optimise data flows across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Define and enforce data architecture standards and governance.
• Engage in projects undergoing technology/data estate changes and provide architecture review.
• Design data platform patterns including lakehouse, streaming and batch pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and editorial teams to deliver practical solutions.
