Job summary

La Fosse is seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of a modern, cloud-based data platform for a large, international organisation. The role is London-based with 3 days in the office and a salary around £100,000.

You will define data architecture standards, govern data quality, and collaborate with BI and engineering teams to deliver scalable data solutions on AWS, embracing lakehouse and medallion architectures while driving governance and best practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Architect / Enterprise Data Architect.
• Strong expertise in data modelling and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data stack (or similar cloud platforms).
• Deep understanding of modern data architectures (lakehouse, warehousing, ETL/ELT).
• Experience with data governance, quality, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Defining and owning the enterprise data architecture strategy and roadmap.
• Designing scalable data models, pipelines, and storage solutions.
• Establishing architectural frameworks (e.g. data vault, dimensional modelling, medallion architecture).
• Leading the design of cloud data platforms (AWS) - including services like Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena.
• Evaluating and introducing new technologies (e.g. Iceberg, Delta Lake, observability tools).
• Driving data governance, standards, and best practice.

Overview:

We're hiring a Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of a modern, cloud-based data platform for a large, international organisation undergoing significant transformation. This is a high-impact, strategic role where you'll define the data architecture vision, set standards, and shape how data is used across the business, from BI reporting to self-serve analytics. You'll act as the technical authority for data architecture, working closely with BI and engineering teams to build scalable, efficient, and future-ready data solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining and owning the enterprise data architecture strategy and roadmap
• Designing scalable data models, pipelines, and storage solutions
• Establishing architectural frameworks (e.g. data vault, dimensional modelling, medallion architecture)
• Leading the design of cloud data platforms (AWS) - including services like Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena
• Evaluating and introducing new technologies (e.g. Iceberg, Delta Lake, observability tools)
• Driving data governance, standards, and best practice
• Acting as a trusted advisor to both technical and business stakeholders

What We're Looking For
