Job summary

Prince Personnel is seeking a Logistics Planner to coordinate inbound shipments at our Telford site. This permanent role reports to the Global Logistics Manager and focuses on visibility of inbound operations, discrepancy resolution, and performance analysis to secure supply continuity.

The successful candidate will manage freight documentation, liaise with freight forwarders, and collaborate with Procurement, Finance and Supply Planning to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in logistics or inbound operations in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound shipments and monitor status, priorities and risks.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers and internal stakeholders to maintain smooth flow of goods.
• Monitor inbound schedules and ensure site readiness for receipt.
• Manage freight tagging, vendor invoices and shipment IDs.
• Create and maintain accurate inbound shipment records and system data.
• Serve as the first point of contact for inbound logistics issues and discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve quantity, pricing, invoice and shipment discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Buyers, Finance and Supply Planning to resolve issues.
• Maintain shipment tracking and status updates.
• Support logistics performance analysis and freight optimisation initiatives.
• Assist reporting and dashboard development for ops improvements.
• Ensure compliance with inbound processes and drive continuous improvement.

Logistics Planner

Location: Telford

Duration: Permanent

Salary: up to £40,000 per annum - Depending on experience

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and successful business within its Supply Chain function. Reporting to the Global Logistics Manager, the Logistics Planner will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth coordination and control of inbound logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining visibility of inbound shipments, resolving discrepancies, managing freight documentation and supporting logistics performance analysis to ensure continuity of supply across the business.

This position would suit an organised and detail-oriented logistics professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with multiple departments and taking ownership of operational challenges from resolution through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating all inbound shipments to site, ensuring visibility of status, priorities and potential risks
• Liaising with freight forwarders, carriers and internal stakeholders to maintain a smooth flow of goods
• Monitoring inbound schedules and ensuring site readiness for receipt
• Managing freight tagging processes, including vendor invoice and shipment identification
• Creating and maintaining accurate inbound shipment records and system data
• Acting as the first point of contact for inbound logistics issues and discrepancies
• Investigating and resolving quantity, pricing, invoice and shipment discrepancies
• Working closely with Procurement, Buyers, Finance and Supply Planning teams to resolve issues efficiently
• Maintaining accurate shipment tracking, documentation and status updates
• Supporting logistics performance analysis, cost visibility and freight optimisation initiatives
• Assisting with reporting, dashboard development and identification of operational improvement opportunities
• Ensuring compliance with inbound logistics processes and supporting continuous improvement activities

Experience and Skills

• Previous experience within logistics, supply chain or inbound operations, ideally within a fast-paced or multi-SKU environment
• Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers and logistics documentation
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve shipment, invoice and stock discrepancies
• Good working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
