Job summary

Ethero is recruiting for a Logistics Transport Planner in the Birmingham area, at Hams Hall, Coleshill. The role runs 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday, with a salary circa 31,000 plus benefits.

You will coordinate daily transport routes, use TMS software, and liaise with drivers and customers to maintain on-time deliveries. The ideal candidate will have transport planning experience, strong organisation and communication skills, knowledge of driver hours and health & safety regulations, and ideally

  • Experience in transport planning, logistics, or fleet coordination
  • Highly organised and good problem-solving skills

  • Good geographical knowledge and route-planning ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and transport planning systems
  • Understand driver hours, transport compliance, and health & safety regulations
  • CPC qualification or knowledge of transport compliance
  • Understand logistics KPIs and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate daily transport routes and vehicle allocations, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time
  • Monitor deliveries and respond quickly to delays or operational issues
  • Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding schedules and updates
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations, driver hours, and health & safety requirements
  • Optimise routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
  • Maintain accurate transport records and planning documentation
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and availability
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport operation
  • Use transport management systems (TMS) and other logistics software effectively
  • Work closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to maintain high service standards while optimising routes and transport costs

Job role / duties

To be considered or this role you MUST:

Have experience in transport planning, logistics, or fleet coordination

Be highly organised and possess good problem-solving skills

Have proven ability working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities

Possess good geographical knowledge and route-planning ability

Be an excellent written and verbal communicator

Be highly competent in Microsoft Office and transport planning systems

Understand driver hours, transport compliance, and health & safety regulations

Ideally possess CPC qualification or knowledge of transport compliance

Understand logistics KPIs and reporting
