Job summary

Safran Aerosystems is seeking a Logistics Officer to join our team in Braintree on a 6-month contract. You will support Stores, Goods In and Dispatch, ensuring stock is received, stored and distributed in line with procedures.

You will coordinate with UK and overseas customers and freight agents, arrange deliveries, and handle air and sea freight requirements while maintaining high Health & Safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, stores, warehouse, goods-in or dispatch environments.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to liaise with internal teams, customers and freight agents.

Responsibilities

• Receive, count and record stock using internal systems.
• Pack, unpack and store materials in an organised and accessible manner.
• Carry out regular stock checks and physical inventory counts.
• Support daily Stores, Goods In and Dispatch activities.
• Safely move and load/unload materials using relevant equipment, including forklifts.
• Issue materials, parts and supplies to workshop teams against requisitions.
• Liaise with UK and overseas customers to arrange deliveries.
• Receive and process air and sea freight shipments.
• Provide accurate clearance instructions to freight agents.
• Research freight costs and obtain air and sea freight quotations.
• Organise dangerous goods shipments in line with IATA and IMDG requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and support audits and inspections.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures.
