Job summary

MacGregor Black, in partnership with a leading consumer goods business, seeks a Logistics Co-ordinator based in Wigan. You will own the shipping process end to end, coordinating international and domestic shipments, and acting as the link between production and delivery.

You’ll negotiate carrier rates, verify documentation, monitor progress, and resolve issues quickly to protect customer experience, with a fast-paced, structured environment that rewards ownership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in shipping, logistics, or coordination.
• Advanced Excel and shipping software experience.
• Proactive, self-starting approach to problem-solving.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily outbound shipments, domestic and international, across multiple carriers and freight forwarders.
• Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
• Act as primary contact for carrier reps, negotiating rates and resolving service issues.
• Monitor shipments in transit and provide tracking updates to internal stakeholders, addressing delays and exceptions.
• Liaise with overseas teams and factories to schedule pickups and support fulfilment operations.
• Audit freight bills and manage logistics budget to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Investigate and resolve shipping issues, including delays, lost packages, and customs holds.
• Maintain accurate shipping records using internal systems and portals.

MacGregor Black is partnering with a leading consumer goods business on the search for a Logistics Co-ordinator based in Wigan.

This is a pivotal role at the centre of the supply chain, connecting factory production with customer delivery across domestic and international markets. The successful candidate will own the shipping process end to end from carrier negotiation and documentation through to problem resolution in a business where speed and accuracy directly affect customer experience. It's a role suited to someone who enjoys structure, moves fast, and takes ownership when things go wrong.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily outbound shipments, domestic and international, across multiple carriers and freight forwarders
• Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations
• Act as the primary point of contact for carrier representatives, negotiating rates and resolving service issues
• Monitor shipments in transit and provide tracking updates to internal stakeholders, addressing delays and exceptions as they arise
• Liaise with overseas teams and factories to schedule pickups, confirm order accuracy, and support fulfilment operations
• Audit freight bills, manage the logistics budget, and identify opportunities to reduce shipping costs without compromising service
• Investigate and resolve shipping issues, including delays, lost packages, damage, and customs holds
• Maintain accurate shipping records using internal systems and customer portals

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years' experience in shipping, logistics, or coordination, ideally within consumer goods, e-commerce, or retail
• Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, customs documentation, and Incoterms
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and shipping software (e.g. FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip)
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A proactive, self-starting approach to problem-solving
