Job summary

Driver Hire Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Logistics Agent for a client in Bury St Edmunds. The role is temporary with a pay rate of £13.45–£20.18 per hour, including overtime and weekends, and a guaranteed 37.5 hours per week.

You'll monitor drivers' hours, support transport compliance, deliver professional customer service, and assist with health & safety and admin tasks. Training will be provided and flexibility to shift patterns is required.

Qualifications

We are looking for Logistics Agent for our client based in Bury St Edmunds, with all the support from our experienced Driver Hire team.

The successful Logistics Agent will receive:

13.45/h basic

20.18/h overtime & weekends

Subsidised canteen.

Guaranteed 37.5hrs per week.

28 days holiday prorated on PAYE.

What to expect as a Logistics Agent:

As a Logistics Agent, you'll play an important part in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly. Working alongside the wider logistics team, you'll help coordinate drivers, support customers and make sure everything stays safe, compliant and on schedule.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring drivers' hours and supporting transport compliance
• Providing helpful, professional customer support
• Assisting with health & safety and operational procedures
• Completing general logistics administration and maintaining accurate records
• Supporting drivers and colleagues with day-to-day queries
• Helping the team keep operations organised, compliant and running efficiently

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday (08:30-16:30) during training, transitioning to Tuesday-Saturday (12:00-20:00) thereafter.

As a Logistics Agent you must:

• The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

• Previous experience in logistics, transport, administration or customer service would be an advantage
• Flexibility to work the required Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00-20:00 shift pattern following training.
• Have no more than 6 effective penalty points.
• No DG, DD or IN endorsements.

This position is commutable from Stowmarket, Ipswich, Thetford, Cambridge, Newmarket and other areas nearby to Bury St Edmunds.
