Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Witney. You will help managing patient flow, support core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care in a structured primary care setting.

The role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions with morning and afternoon slots, suitable for long-term block bookings. DBS clearance is required and ongoing patient care is a priority.

Qualifications

• Past HCA experience in primary care or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy experience is desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Basic IT literacy for clinical systems documentation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical observations (BP, pulse, temp, SpO2).
• Assist with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling if trained.
• Assist with ECGs and routine patient assessments.
• Provide lifestyle advice and health promotion.
• Update patient records in the clinical system.
• Support clinicians with general tasks as required.
