Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Health Care Assistant to support a GP practice in Gloucester. You will assist with routine clinical duties, patient assessments and managing day-to-day treatment room activity, helping the clinical team deliver high-quality care.

This role suits a proactive HCA with NHS or primary care experience, comfortable performing observations, phlebotomy (where trained) and ECGs, and who holds an Enhanced DBS. Ad-hoc or regular sessions available, mornings or afternoons.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care or NHS preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
