Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support a GP practice in Stone. You will perform clinical observations, assist with treatment room procedures, and help manage patient flow in a primary care setting.

The role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions with morning and afternoon availability. DBS check (Enhanced) is required, and previous NHS/primary care experience is preferred to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
