Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Worthing. The role focuses on assisting the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity in a busy primary care setting.

You will perform observations, help manage patient flow and contribute to high-quality care delivery. The position offers flexible ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions with morning and afternoon availability.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Enhanced DBS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
