Job summary

LTE Group invites applications for a Local Education Manager at HMP Preston. The role leads a dedicated education team, shapes learning strategies, and ensures high-quality curriculum delivery across the site.

This permanent, full-time position requires 37 hours weekly and aligns with LTE Group’s prison education mission. The ideal candidate will have teaching qualifications (Cert Ed/PGCE), literacy and numeracy credentials, and proven leadership in educational settings, with a focus on QA,

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE.
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Developing, leading and managing a team effectively.
  • Managing colleagues including the deployment of those colleagues and appropriate delegation of tasks.

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Preston, working as a Local Education Manager. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Preston is located within the heart of the city centre. The facility is a Category B Male prison that focusses on providing a safe and supportive environment to promote the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders back into society. The team aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times.
