Job summary

Novus, LTE Group's prison education provider, is seeking a Learning Needs Support Practitioner to help learners overcome barriers and reach their potential in a supportive education environment.

You will identify individual support needs, develop practical strategies, and provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support, collaborating with tutors and wider teams to promote inclusive learning and successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy.
• Level 2 qualification in Hidden Difficulties or equivalent or be willing to work towards within an agreed timescale.
• Track record of working effectively with learners presenting with challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

Are you passionate about helping learners overcome barriers and reach their full potential? We’re recruiting a dedicated Learning Needs Support Practitioner to join our supportive education team. In this rewarding role, you’ll work closely with learners to identify individual support needs, develop practical strategies, and provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support that helps them engage, progress and succeed. You’ll collaborate with tutors and wider support teams to promote inclusive learning, build confidence, and ensure every learner is supported and empowered to achieve meaningful outcomes.

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Hewell, working as a Learning Needs Support Practitioner. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

HMP Hewell is situated in Worcestershire, England, Hewell Prison is a Category B men’s prison serving the West Midlands area. HMP Hewell offers a range of training and development programs, including vocational workshops, educational courses, and initiatives focused on resettlement and family support

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

• To hold level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy
• To hold a Level 2 qualification in Hidden Difficulties or equivalent or be willing to work towards within an agreed timescale
• Track record of working effectively with learners presenting with challenging behaviour
• Understanding of how people learn and methods that can be used to enhance a learning experience
